Having a cordless phone in your house can be 100 times more of a health risk than using a mobile, report a group of Swedish Scientists.

Mobile phones today operate at about 900 megahertz, whereas some cordless DECT phones operate at a whopping 6.0 gigahertz!

Emissions from a cordless phone's charger can be as high as six volts per metre – twice as strong as those found with a 100 metres of mobile masts. Two metres away from the charger the radiation is still as high as 2.5 volts per metre – that's 50 times what scientists regard as a safe level!

The most common cancers caused by such radiation are leukaemias. But breast cancer, brain tumors, insomnia, headaches and erratic behavior in kids have also been linked. Those with chargers close to their beds are subjected to radiation while they sleep.

饞嘴的人，對住美食，往往毫無招架能力，有時更會做出常人看似匪夷所思的行為。舉個例 … … 朋友最近就試過將 D24 榴槤從新加坡私運回港。

周遭的人知道後，不外乎兩種反應。要不就嘴藐藐嘆句：咁都得？要不就興奮得雙目發光，直追問：仲有無剩？如果你是前者，即是見到榴槤就怕得掩鼻逃走的人，那麼，請你別要浪費時間，乾脆跳過這幾頁吧！相反，如果你正為這種瘋狂行徑暗自喝采的話，就要留意以下兩頁，看一個人如何迷失在榴槤香中。

香港都有金枕頭，為甚麼還要山長水遠從新加坡買回來？哎呀！香港吃到的全是泰國種，是摘下來再漚熟；只有馬拉種，才是正宗樹上熟。這些皮薄形細肉滿的馬拉榴槤，一般保存期不長，故此根本不會外銷，想吃就要親自飛到馬來西亞，或是接鄰的新加坡，才有機會嘆到。

品種花多眼亂
每年 5 月，就踏入榴槤飄香的季節。在 新加坡芽籠區生果檔 雲集的 Sims Avenue ，一櫃櫃青青綠綠長滿刺釘的流星錘堆滿路旁，蔚為奇景。

當中有一間，由巫氏兄弟打骰的， 祖上兩三代都從事榴槤出入口生意，是老字號，生意做得大 ，甚至很多五星酒店都向他們取貨炮製榴槤甜品，故此來這買榴槤，一定不會撞板。

果然，抬頭望望招牌： 貓山王、 D24 、 XO 、紅蝦、金鳳、尖篤，說得出，甚至說不出的榴槤品種都一應俱全。

「甚麼是尖篤？」「形狀尖尖的，有甘味，但纖維多。」店主華哥娓娓道出。「 XO 是不是極品的意思？」「不是，有人覺得入口帶點 XO 味。」問多句，又知多一點了！「哪最好吃是甚麼？」這才是我最期待的答案。「吃榴槤講個人口味，各花入各眼！

像本地人，大多喜歡帶苦甜的貓山王。如果要選味道討好，較易為人接受的，就要吃 D24 。剛好澎亨（馬來西亞地名）今日有貨返，你來得合時。」華哥一邊說一邊熟手地用尖刀將榴槤屁股錐開，我試食。

榴槤分不同大小級數列好價錢，可即買即開。
每年 5 月至 7 月都是吃榴槤的旺季，供應量多，頂級的榴槤大約 $60/kg ，便宜的港幣十元八塊都買到一個。

D24 榴槤味道香濃，兼且是樹上熟，風味與香港人吃慣的金枕頭不一樣。

尋找高山老樹榴槤
果然，形狀圓圓體形偏細的 D24 ，味道香濃，肉很厚身，軟滑得來卻不會腍 pat pat ，而且沒有一味死甜，甜美過後，有微澀的回甘。

至於貓山王就比較爽身，核較細，苦澀味重，回噎強勁，吃罷幾小時，嘴巴仍有陣陣異香。兩種榴槤，風味迥異，卻同樣叫人迷。「告訴你，好的榴槤一定長在高山的老樹上，吸水較少，肉味自然濃。

熟行情的，單聽產地果園品種，已經可辨優劣，再拎上手摸摸，保證沒有錯。」華哥一邊開一邊說，而我就一面聽一面吃，實行各有各忙。

說實話，在這些路邊生果檔吃榴槤是一件暢快的事，這些店子通常開到凌晨一兩點，每晚晚飯過後，就會人聲鼎沸，香飄千里。在這，不怕別人歧視的眼光，因為身邊附近全都是「同道中人」。人人不理儀態，伸出五爪，開懷大吃。

吃罷，華哥還悄悄告訴我，不時有遊客要求將榴槤真空包好，帶回家。「帶得回去嗎？」我真的想知道。「可以，我幫你挑些乾包，起肉，用發泡膠盒載好，加保鮮紙、報紙加密包封幾層，再放進行李內寄艙，回家後立即放回雪櫃，可吃兩天。

放心，帶過好多次了，行李內的衣服也不會沾到味道的。」
華哥滿有信心地說。我愈聽愈心動，那麼，不如 … …
