The goal of National Opt Out Day is to force change on the TSA and get the travel industry working for us. Opting out will overwhelm the TSA rent-a-gropers and force the roll back of both the porno scanners and the enhanced groping We have a right to privacy. Buying a plane ticket does not mean that we’re guilty until proven innocent. Many people do not understand what they consent to when choosing to fly.

It’s the day we stand up refuse our consent to the federal government’s virtual strip search porno-scanners and enhanced patdown groping techniques. You should never have to explain to your children, “Remember: no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it’s a government employee, then it’s OK.”

 What was voluntary new full body scanners are now being made compulsary because of the so called "underpant bomber". This was planned and carried out by our intelligence agencies to wage war on Yemen. Wake up people, don't listen to the media!!!

We need to stand up for our rights, our freedoms are constantly being taken away and traded in for so-called "security". Wake up people!

Find out the facts for yourself, all the major events of the last decade and beyond have seen us giving up our liberty in exchange for safety. These events are being carried out by the very people who are promising you security!

Look at 9/11 or the 7/7 bombings, DONT listen to the media, do your own research, look at evidence from outside the mainstream media and then make your own mind up!

Full body scanners WILL be made compulsary and you WILL be forced to take them if you want to fly.

Because NOBODY gets to see you naked without buying you dinner first. Not even the TSA.

The TSA has eroded too many of our rights under the guise of protecting us. The current implementation of Backscatter full-body scanners is exposing thousands of people to excess radiation, while violating their rights and their privacy. The scanners produce a naked image of anyone who steps into the machine. The only alternative? An aggressive and lengthy pat-down (which the TSA has made as unpleasant as possible). 

Enough is enough. It's time to take a stand. It's time to SAY NO TO FULL-BODY AIRPORT SCANNERS!

Man awarded over $7 million for microwave popcorn-induced lung damage
Wayne Watson developed a somewhat rare respiratory illness known as bronchiolitis obliterans, or "popcorn lung," which involves a severe narrowing of the small airway branches in the lungs as a result of fibrosis (scar tissue) and inflammation. This narrowing creates airway obstruction, which can make it difficult for sufferers of the condition to breathe. Oftentimes, as is the case with Watson, the condition significantly decreases lung capacity, causing perpetual shortness of breath and dry cough.
The culprit, claims Watson, is diacetyl, an artificial flavoring chemical commonly added to microwaveable popcorn in order to give it a buttery flavor without having to actually use real butter.

 【明報專訊】政府3年內再度調升煙稅，這次加幅達四成，每支香煙約加稅5角，一包原售39元的香煙，因為煙稅大增10元，零售價達49元，煙商更打算「超加」至少1元，令一包煙今後售50元以上。政府估計，加煙稅後完稅煙數量會大幅下降近18％，煙稅收益則額外增加兩成至7.3億元。業界擔心加稅後私煙問題更勢惡化。

 煙檔疑消息公布前囤貨

 財政司    長曾俊華    宣布大幅增加煙稅消息前，不少報攤煙檔昨早都暫收起香煙，待知道加稅後價格才出售。記者昨午在旺角    多家便利店、報紙檔，見財爺宣布加煙稅後，店員檔主即自行把煙價隨新增煙稅上調10元。煙民陳先生表示，昨早銅鑼灣    便利店售煙貨架    仍空空如也，一宣布增加煙草稅後，煙架上就重新放滿香煙，前後相距僅約1小時，他質疑便利店囤貨。陳先生每周抽煙5包，表示煙稅若再增加，會考慮購買私煙。

 各大煙草商昨日仍未向煙販建議加稅後的香煙零售價，據部分煙販昨晚獲得的消息指出，原售每包39元的主流大牌子香煙，如萬寶路、健牌、沙龍    等，除會增加10元煙稅，更會額外加價1元，售50元，便利店甚至會加至52至53元，最終價格今日會確定。

 稱過往加稅控煙成效顯著

 目前香港煙民約76萬，政府表示，大幅加煙稅是希望控制青少年吸煙問題，以及鼓勵煙民戒煙。據當局07/08年和基線的調查，以及09/10年的吸煙人口調查顯示，09年加煙稅五成後，15至29歲吸煙人口由8.9％減至8％，吸煙量較大（每日吸煙20支或以上）的煙民，平均每日吸煙量更由33支減至28支，顯示加煙稅的控煙成效顯著。資料同時顯示，2010年本港15歲以上的吸煙人口約有12％，與之前數年變化不大。

 曾俊華在去年財政算預案中表明，政府長遠會把煙稅加至佔煙價的75％，今次政府宣布加煙稅後，煙稅約佔煙價七成。政府預計，煙稅大加四成後，2011/12年的煙稅收入只會加約兩成，即完稅煙數量預料減少近18％，為預備煙民戒煙需求增加，政府亦會增撥2100萬元加強戒煙服務。

 港大公共衛生學院院長林大慶和護理學院院長陳肇始都歡迎政府加煙稅，認為現時約76萬煙民中，38萬人不立即戒煙隨時會因而死亡。自由黨    副主席、批發及零售界方剛說，大加煙稅恐影響報販生計。民建聯    陳鑑林    和民主黨    主席何俊仁    亦對政策有保留，批評政策令煙民多怨氣。

 【明報專訊】前晚以40元買中「超級六合彩」，贏得4451萬元的印度    裔男子Jagpal Singh，昨日又在幸運投注站現身，再次與記者相遇。「幸運Singh」說，想不到首次買六合彩就一擊即中，暫時還未想到如何運用獎金，初步打算在年底結婚前置業，但無想過會辭去工作，因為怕會悶。徇眾要求下，他又再次拿出價值4451萬元的彩票展示，未有擔心被搶走。馬會表示，會憑彩票發放獎金支票，換言之是「認票不認人」。幸運Singh雖已用電話登記，但在明日領獎之前，還要面對被盜賊光顧的風險。

 幸運Singh昨日再在買中頭獎的馬寶道投注站現身，同行除3名友人外，還有印尼    籍女友Anik。Singh的現身不但吸引記者採訪，更引來途人圍觀，有人上前要求合照，起初他表現含蓄，但圍觀者一句「唔緊要啦！開心口野嘛！」，他遂放開懷抱與人拍照，更大方展示中獎彩票，記者問他怕不怕被搶，他即說「唔驚」，與港人財不可露眼的習慣大相逕庭。

 一擊即中 不怕被搶

Singh全程笑得見牙不見眼，說今次雖得巨獎，但未想過放棄工作，因無工作的生活「太悶」。他又說已預定於11月與女友結婚，正考慮置業，亦計劃請同事朋友吃大餐，亦會與兄姊分享獎金，希望改善他們的生活。督信印度教的他計劃將部分獎金捐贈慈善機構。

 考慮買樓準備結婚

 32歲的Singh是土生土長香港人，能操不太流利的廣東話，在筲箕灣    一印刷    公司任職跟車工人10多年。他說，自己過去從未買過六合彩，從報章及朋友口中得悉是次超級六合彩有億元彩金，前天晚上7時下班，途經馬寶道投注站時便入內湊熱鬧，由投注站職員協助「畫飛」，以40元買了4注，6個中獎號碼是他隨心亂填，中頭獎連自己也不敢相信。

 家鄉有一兄一姊的幸運Singh，其實從未返過印度老家。父母過身後留下一個北角唐樓單位，在港沒有親人。Singh知道中頭獎後第一時間通知遠在家鄉的兄姊，令兩人「開心到癲咗」，並請他返鄉團聚。當通知拍拖3年任職女傭    的印尼藉女友Anik，Anik直言起初全不相信，以為男友捉弄她，後來肯定男友中頭獎的事實，直言高興得又喊又叫。

 馬會規定，以現金投注的六合彩得獎者而獎金超過500萬，中獎人需於指定時間內致電熱線登記，彩金將以支票支付。中獎者登記後，馬會會與中獎人約定時間領取支票，並將「憑彩票發放支票」。
