升職加薪、儲錢買樓、一年至少一次旅行…似乎是香港主流社會的努力方向。然而，在這股主流浪潮下， 有人開拓另一條路：簡樸生活、回歸自然，重拾生活的根本。

野人(莫皓光)在十年前大學畢業後，有感社會鼓催物質生活，浪費很嚴重，於是他立志過簡單、自然的生活。野人和太太在郊區租小屋子，在屋前小空地種菜，十年沒買衫褲，傢具盡量用二手的，甚或用二手材料自製，間中更在快餐店撿薯條吃…他的選擇呈現了簡單、環保的生活是持久的快樂，是物質所不能滿足的。

區紀復本身是化學工程師，有感自己的專業只令社會更污染，生活質素變差，毅然在三十年前辭職，並在台灣花蓮成立鹽寮淨土，推廣簡樸生活。今年年初，區紀復在西貢鹽田梓開展生活體驗營，讓繁忙的香港都市人反省生活、不靠物質的態度，在主流物質享樂的浪潮中力挽狂瀾。
